Types of Therapies
Person-Centred Therapy
Your Goals, Your Decisions, Your Life
This is one of my favourite therapies, as it is tailored to the individual client's needs. It allows the client to be actively listened to in a empathetic, non-judgemental, and safe environment by the Counsellor. Whether you are an NDIS (Disability) client, or someone whom has been struggling with anxiety or depression for some years; this approach allows YOU, the client to take a lead in the discussion process, and encouraged in discovering your own solutions.
Strength-Based Therapy
Your Strengths, Your Skills, Your Resilience
Life throws many surprises at us, and while we cannot predict the outcome of any situation, we can take control of how we respond to certain situations. With my strength-based strategies, you’ll learn how to find your inner strengths, build up your resilience and life coping skills. Help build up your child's confidence and their resilience. Be the person YOU want to be. Learn how to cope with lives daily challenges, at work, at school, in social setting settings, with family. This is all about YOU, and realising your full potential as a unique individual on this amazing planet of ours!
Solution-Focused Therapy
Your Present, Your Future, Your Goals
This therapy was developed back in the 1970's. As the name suggests, SFT or SFBT as us therapists like to call to call it; is future-focused, goal-orientated, and focuses on solutions - rather than the problems which brought the client to seek counselling. This therapy really focuses on the clients Present and Future Goals, versus the past. If you think this might be right for you, please call or book online now to schedule a session.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Your Thoughts, Your Experiences, Your Control
This approach stems from a variety of considerations. To make it easier to understand, CBT is a modality approach, which has clinical proven success over many years in overcoming mental health issues like anxiety, depression, grief, low self-esteem, trauma, amongst others; by maintaining your results long-term. CBT is typically a short-term therapeutic approach used to treat and manage problematic core thoughts and behaviours. CBT attempts to challenge the perspective that underlying thoughts and attitudes are the primary drive to our behaviour. The way we think and feel, influence our actions and habits on a daily basis. If you think CBT could help with your issues, I would love to hear from you.
